Join me this Friday for MASKS unveiling!

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

It's MASKS time! This Friday, April 1st 2022, the much-anticipated Masks exhibit/auction opens at the Museum of Art Fort Collins. The annual event is a wonderful opportunity to see the diverse styles and methods used by local artists who all begin with identical blank ceramic mask forms and transform them into works of art. I'm always excited to see my colleagues' creations for the Masks show!

“Light is a thing that cannot be reproduced, but must be

represented by something else – by color.”

Paul Cezanne

Above are some of my progress photos as I created my 2022 Mask, from the blank ceramic form to the finished piece packaged for transport. The 3-D tree and most of the background is constructed with clumps of dried, colored paint left over from prior projects.

I named the finished artwork "Pieces of Light." To see more of my (larger) photos with descriptive captions, plus a video of the finished artwork, please visit

The Masks exhibit is a silent auction fundraiser for the Museum of Art and will be open for bidding from April 1 - May 6, 2022. I'll be there at the opening this Friday for the first part of the evening before I head two blocks north to my studio for...

First Friday Art Walk! The America Building will again be participating in the monthly self-guided tour through Old Town. I'll have my studio lights on and slide shows of my work on display for the time before I can be present in person.
