Art and Live Music this Friday

Hello June! This week is First Friday Art Walk, and we have special offerings planned for you at the America Building.

This Friday evening, June 3, 2022, live music will fill the hallways and there will be a fundraiser for Off the Hook Arts, a local nonprofit that provides free music education for kids and supports the cultural arts community through public events.

15 artists will be featured at the America Building (including me), music by Elise Wonder and Liam Kimball, beverages from Odell Brewing, and giveaways from local businesses. For more details just VISIT THIS SITE. Hope to see you Friday 6-9pm!

This photo looking south showcases the lighted sculpture along Laporte Street, new cobblestone pavers, and custom mural decals on the parking garage walls.

Coming up in two weeks is the Grand Opening for our re-vamped North Tenney Court Alley, between the America Building and the Civic Center Parking Structure. If you haven't seen the artistic upgrades to this Old Town lane, you are in for a treat!

This photo looking north shows the back door of the America Building (under the "155") and the floral mural I painted in 2019 for Bloom flower shop.

Join the walking tour Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 5:30-7:00pm, beginning at the lighted sculpture on LaPorte Street just east of the parking garage. The alley jogs east and continues south on the other side of Mountain Avenue.

Looking ahead: I will be painting three transformer cabinets in an alley south of City Park this summer.

Last year artist Willow Sedam painted three cabinets in that same alley with the theme of butterflies, moths and caterpillars.

To coordinate with Willow's designs I chose to depict Colorado pollinators including bees, hummingbirds and beetles. My designs were approved last summer, so now I am just waiting for the City's official Notice to Proceed. Can't wait!
