I'm very excited about a new art exhibit "Beyond the Box" open now at the Fort Collins Lincoln Center Art Gallery.

Fort Collins, CO

September 11 - November 20, 2026

This exhibit is a celebration of the Art in Public Places Transformer Cabinet Mural Program and the many artists who have created the over 400 transformer cabinet murals in our city over the past two decades.

The show includes in-progress photos of artists/teams working on their murals; their sketches; scale models of the cabinets they created for Art in Public Places approval; and artist "artifacts" such as weathered paintbrushes, stirring sticks, paint mixing palettes and other items utilized in painting the transformer cabinet murals.

Cabinet mural artists were each also invited to paint a 12-by-12-inch canvas to be part of the show. They are exhibited in the gallery and most of them will be for sale.

... But wait! There's more!

Also included in this wonderful exhibit is a full sized electrical box, opened up to show visitors what's on the inside of a transformer cabinet. The cabinet that was chosen is one I painted in 2022! (Yippee!) It was part of a "Colorado Pollinators" themed trio near Fort Collins' City Park.

More info from the Lincoln Center Art Gallery website:

"Come to The Lincoln Center to meet participating artists for a free reception on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. Visitors are invited to meet participating artists, learn about the history of the project, and hear firsthand how public art has helped shape Fort Collins’ neighborhoods and public spaces." (Unfortunately I already had plans and will be out of town that weekend.)

However...

A panel discussion is being planned for November 14, 2026 at the Lincoln Center. I will be present that evening, and in fact I'll be one of the panelists. Hope to see you there!

The Lincoln Center Art Gallery is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00-6:00pm, and before most theatrical performances.
